SEND

At Downe Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) feels happy, valued and fully included in school life. We recognise that every child is unique and that some children may need additional or different support to help them learn, develop and flourish. Our staff work carefully to identify individual needs at the earliest opportunity and provide appropriate, high-quality support within our nurturing and inclusive environment. We believe that strong partnerships with parents and carers are essential, and we work closely with families, our SENDCo and external professionals where appropriate to ensure that each child receives the support they need. Above all, we have high expectations for every pupil and are ambitious for all children with SEND, supporting them to develop confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning.
