Welcome to Year 5
In year 5 we explore and discuss some amazing books, such as: The Wanderings of Odysseus, Beowulf and Kensuke’s Kingdom. These high quality texts enable the children to develop their vocabulary and produce a range of superb pieces of writing. In IPC we cover areas such as: Myths and Legends, Going Global and Space Explorers. Children have the opportunity to enrich their learning through a number of educational visits and local walks. It is a pivotal year in applying and developing our understanding of maths, whereby we develop a variety of strategies that will enable all children to tackle a multitude of challenges.

Please find attached the targets year 5 are working towards this year. The work towards achieving these targets will be covered in school but you can also help your child by checking their homework and looking for evidence of their targets in what they do.
